Taylor Smith is a seasoned pre-litigation attorney at Carpenter & Zuckerman, where she passionately represents individuals injured by others’ negligence. With a background that spans both plaintiff- and defense-side work, as well as extensive business development experience, Taylor brings a uniquely balanced perspective to every case. Her practice focuses on personal injury claims involving motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, catastrophic injuries, and complex pre-litigation strategy.
Known for her assertive advocacy and strategic case management, Taylor has developed a reputation for guiding high-volume caseloads with precision while ensuring each client receives compassionate, individualized support. Her experience in both litigation and firm operations allows her to approach cases holistically—from medical treatment planning and settlement evaluation to preparing matters for trial.
Before joining Carpenter & Zuckerman, Taylor gained valuable experience at several prominent personal injury law firms throughout California. She has managed a wide variety of cases, including catastrophic injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability matters, from intake through resolution. Her responsibilities included client intake, demand preparation, settlement negotiations, and overseeing medical treatment strategy to help maximize case value. Taylor also contributed to business development efforts and firm growth, building strong relationships with clients and providers while helping expand the firm’s presence in new markets.
Earlier in her career, Taylor spent several years on the defense side, representing corporations, insurance carriers, and medical professionals in personal injury and malpractice litigation. This foundation sharpened her litigation skills and deepened her resolve to fight for plaintiffs' rights.
Taylor is a Midwest native who thrives in fast-paced environments and is deeply committed to supporting her clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and values community service and mentorship in the legal field.
Education
Taylor earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, graduating in the top 30% of her class and receiving the Dean’s Merit Award. During law school, she externed for the Honorable Judge Algenon L. Marbley in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, where she contributed to legal memoranda and observed high-level federal proceedings.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, where she began building her academic foundation for a career dedicated to justice.
